Tibet Trekking and Climbing

Embark on an extraordinary trekking and climbing journey through the Labchigang mountain range in Tibet, a region known for its unspoiled beauty and rich cultural heritage. This custom-designed adventure takes you far from the usual trails, offering a unique exploration of Tibet’s breathtaking landscapes.

Your journey begins with a warm welcome from our experienced Tibetan guide and driver, who will accompany you to the sacred city of Lhasa. En route, enjoy the majestic views of the Brahmaputra River, known locally as Yarlung Tsangpo. Upon arrival in Lhasa, you’ll spend three nights acclimatizing while discovering the cultural, economic, and spiritual heart of Tibet.

From Lhasa, the adventure continues with visits to the historic Palchoe Monastery and Tashi Lhunpo Monastery before reaching Old Dingri. This serene village lies at an elevation of 4,360 meters, nestled on a ridge overlooking the Everest range. The area boasts the vast 80-km-wide Bumchu River plain, fed by tributaries such as Rachu Tsangpo and Langkor Gyachu, both originating from the towering Himalayas. For centuries, Dingri has served as a key hub for trade routes connecting Tibet to Shar Kumbu in eastern Nepal via the Nangpala Pass.

The first night’s camp will be set near Langkor Monastery in Dingri, a spiritual site perched on a south-facing ridge with panoramic views of Mount Jowo Oyuk. This location holds profound significance as a major pilgrimage site in the Lato region. In the 11th century, the Indian yogi Phadampa Sangye established a hermitage here, introducing the Chod and Zhije teachings to Tibet. His teachings, including the renowned Hundred Verses of Admonition to the People of Dingri, were passed down to his foremost Tibetan disciple, the yogini Machik Labdron.

The Labchigang Valley, with its snow-clad peaks, is steeped in spiritual reverence. The towering mountains are considered the abodes of deities such as Cakrasamvara, Vajrapani, Manjughosa, and Avalokiteshvara. Trekkers will be rewarded with spectacular views of glaciers and iconic peaks, including Shisha Bangma, Jowo Oyuk, and Everest itself.

The highlight of this adventure is the exhilarating ascent of Labchigang Peak, which stands at over 6,667 meters. Reaching the summit offers an unforgettable moment of triumph, surrounded by the pristine beauty of the Himalayan landscape.
