Nepal’s Lumbini has been included in the list of the world’s best places to visit, published by the globally renowned magazine The New York Times. Among the top 25 destinations worldwide, Lumbini has been ranked ninth.

Introducing Lumbini briefly, The New York Times wrote, “Visit new temples and meditation centers at this ancient pilgrimage site.” It further stated, “Thousands of years ago, Queen Maya Devi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha, in the gardens of Lumbini. This pilgrimage site is filled with ancient ruins and contemporary Buddhist centers. A decade after a devastating earthquake shook Nepal, new temples and meditation centers are opening.”
