Teej Festival
Nepal is renowned as hindu nation. Most of the festivals are related with hindu culture and of course teej is also celebrated by hindu people but nowadays anyone can celebrated with their internal purity and devote to god. Teej is specially for hindu women. In this occasion Lord Shiva is worshipped. According to legendary, goddess Parvati take fast and puja in this day. She pray for the lord Shiva for her future husband and long life. Then her wish was fufilled. Till now this thought are believed. Teej is a festival celebrated by Nepali women for the long life of her husband if they are married. And also celebrate by unmarried for their future husband and long and firm relationship between them until the death this life. It is celebrated for marital happiness, well-being of spouse and children and purification of own body and soul. Women are beautifully dressed in red dress and ornament and jewellery. Losar Festival
Losar is mostly celebrated by Gurung caste. Losar is also Gurung’s new year days. In this day gurung people wear their traditional dresses take around the city. Family members of all generations get together and exchange love and greetings. Gurungs celebrate this Losar by organizing rallies in traditional places and cultural programme. And also feasting and greetings are the main part of celebration. In kathmandu, Losar is celebrated in Tundikhel at the heart of the city with colourful stalls , great traditional music and songs. In this day people are flooding inside on Poush 15 under Nepali Bikram Sambat Calender.
This day is the end of winter and start of spring which brings warm and cherish to Tamu Losar. On this occasion they visit Buddhist shrines, monasteries and ghumbas and worshipped. Gurung culture and tradition are well preserved as a Tamu Losar
