Krishna Janmashtami is the festival of Hindu and celebrated on Asthami tithi i.e eight day of the dark half or Krishna Paksha of the month of Bhadra(August-September). It is known as Krishnashtami, Saatam Aatham, Gokulashtami, Ashtami Rohini, Srikrishna Jayanti. Krishna is hindu god while Janmashtami is birthday. This day is celebrated as the birthday of lord Krishna.
Lord Krishna was the eight son of king Vasudev and Queen Devaki of Yadavas from Mathura but brought up by Nanda and Yasoda Maiya. Lord Krishna is regarded as the eight incarnation of lord Vishnu.
According to past history, Krishna has very important role in Mahabharat Battle as a Chariot Rider of Arjun and also he was supporter of Pandavs by giving advices. His advices are also known as Bhagwat Gita. Krishna is god of romance and playing flute with his gopinies. Radha was a true love of Krishna. In temple idol of KrishnaRadha are worship because of their true love.
Krishna Jayanti is celebration of victory of good and Dharma over devil and bad power. In this day temoles of lord Krishna are decorated beautifully. Religious songs are enchanted and played. Devotees are crowded in the Krishna temples for worship. They offer flowers, coins, fruits and sweets to Lord Krishna idol. After finishing Puja, priest distribute prasad. Devotees observe a fasting till midnight.
