Magnitude 7.1 earthquake
Senior geologist Koirala from the Department of Mines and Geology stated that the epicenter of the earthquake was 90 kilometers away from Nepal. The districts of Nepal closest to the epicenter are Taplejung, Solukhumbu, Sankhuwasabha, and Dolakha.
Details of the damage caused by the earthquake in these districts have not yet been reported. Local authorities are working on collecting the information. Solukhumbu police spokesperson Inspector Laxman Giri mentioned that a strong tremor was felt, and efforts are underway to assess whether any damage has occurred.
